Student & Graduate Placements

Kick start your career with one of our rewarding placements

Bright Green Placements offers exciting opportunities to students and graduates to work with organisations and companies across Scotland.

Bright Green Business runs two fantastic placement programmes. The Environmental Placement Programme and the Early Career Programme. Our aim is to offer meaningful project-based placements to ensure that students and graduates are gaining credible work experience with an emphasis on ownership and responsibility for the work they produce.

The placements are paid and run all year round. The majority are short-term ranging from 8 to 12 weeks. We welcome applications from students and recent graduates with a college or university background.

Bright Green Business is pleased to be working alongside key partners including the Scottish Government, the Big Lottery Fund, Cycling Scotland and Midlothian Council

The Environmental Placement Programme

The Environmental Placement Programme (EPP) is our flagship programme which we have proudly been running for over 25 years. This programme offers opportunities to candidates looking to gain experience in the environmental sector. EPP placements have an environmental focus with projects that can vary from environmental management and carbon behaviour strategies to active travel, waste management and community engagement.

The Early Career Programme

The Early Career Programme provides the opportunity for businesses to engage with students and graduates in a wide range of areas including communications to IT. An 8 to 12 week placement can help businesses move projects forward or start something new and are a great way for students and graduates to gain work experience.
