Emily - Campus Cycling Officer

Emily - Campus cycling officer at Glasgow Kelvin and City of Glasgow College

While on placement, Emily greatly improved the cycling facilities across campus at Glasgow Kelvin and City of Glasgow College. Her aim was to deliver behavioural change projects to increase active travel rates at both colleges which she went above and beyond to achieve.

Emily was able to establish an inclusive cycling programme at City of Glasgow College – called Cycle Together – to break barriers to cycling for minority groups including disabled staff and students. She was also able to design and deliver the Glasgow Kelvin College Student Cycling Challenge 2021, which saw a significant cohort of students compete remotely to win prizes for a range of cycling challenges.

Employer Quote

“Glasgow Kelvin and City of Glasgow College have benefited tremendously in having a Campus Cycling Officer. This was our third year having a cycling officer. The Campus Cycling Officer was able to focus on the objectives set in the Cycle Friendly Campus booklet produced by Cycling Scotland and work to implement these at both Colleges.”
